We are completely dedicated to Shaping the Future of Higher Education. We devote all of our energy and talent to the preparation of master plans and the design of innovative, affordable buildings for college campuses.

JMZ has provided planning and architectural services for over 40 colleges throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. We have designed libraries, lecture halls, dining halls, labs, technology buildings, theaters, concert halls, offices, child care centers, athletic facilities, and student housing. We are especially skilled at breathing new life into existing campuses and older buildings.

Now in its 33rd year, JMZ is a professional corporation consisting of twenty-six staff members, one-half of whom are women. Many members of our staff have been with the firm for over ten years – a statistic we feel speaks volumes about our firm culture and teamwork. Sixteen are licensed architects; five are LEED® Accredited Professionals.

Our Commitment to Sustainable Design
In recent years JMZ has received ten design awards from the Eastern New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. As members of both the U.S. Green Building Council and the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, we have also been leaders in sustainable design. Nearly all of our college projects are designed in accordance with LEED® standards. We have incorporated innovative geothermal heating and cooling systems into six of our buildings and obtained over $2 million in energy grants for our clients.
