Calculating DPE & Overhead - How to and Why

This training session will show you that overhead costs and personnel expenses may be very important to your firm.  If these costs are reported incorrectly or not at all it could be detrimental in determining your projects profitability.  Learn how to use DPE and Overhead percentages to pass those costs to the project.   Also, having the ability to show the staff utilization can help indicate when there is a need to increase staff and when to better utilize various team members.  Using tools within the software will help you manage this vital information.

Learn how to:
• Factor overhead and DPE into profit calculations in reports.
• Compare overhead time with billable time and calculate utilization.
• Fix errors related to overhead and utilization.
• Change utilization types on the Employee Utilization report.

An important aspect of any project is the ability to monitor and control consultant contracts. This session shows you how to manage individual consultant budgets in Ajera by setting up phases for each consultant. You learn how to easily verify that a consultant’s insurance policies provide adequate coverage for the life of the project.

This session then introduces the powerful features of PORTFOLIO to manage consultants, where you have all the features of Ajera. You’ll learn how to build a complete project budget which incorporates your individual consultant costs.

This training session provides an intermediate to advance look at the Inquiry feature within Ajera and PORTFOLIO. Take your skills to the next level by learning how to use formulas to customize your Ajera and PORTFOLIO inquiries. You will explore SQL functions that will enable you to acquire more focused information in your inquiries. You will also learn how to:

• Filter amount columns using field criteria in a formula
• Use a string function to parse through a data field
• Use key fields in link columns
